Test methods ASTM D91, D97, D1796, D2273, D2983, D4007 and related methods require heat preconditioning of the test sample before as part of the test procedure. Lawler offers a number of small, convenient aluminum block baths able to preheat the method specified test tubes at the method specified temperature. These units replace the bulkier heated oven and with better temperature control. Typically the temperature stability and test position to test position temperature variation is no higher than ±0.5°C. The operating temperature range is 30° to 80°C. The digital controller displays the set point and the actual temperature.
Model 91-10 and Model 91-20 are dry block baths for 45°C sample heat preconditioning of ASTM D97 pour point test tubes, with 10 and 20 test positions, respectively.
Model 92-10 and Model 92-20 are dry block baths for 50°C sample heat preconditioning of ASTM D2983 low temperature Brookfield viscosity test tubes, with 10 and 20 test positions, respectively.
Model 93-10 and Model 93-20 are dry block baths for 33.5°C, 49°C or 60°C preheating of ASTM
D91, D1796, D2273
or D4007 centrifuge tubes, with 10 and 20 test positions, respectively. The test holes are configured for close contact of the tube including the lower conical part to assure uniform sample pre-heating.
The utility of Model 91-10 or Model 91-20 block baths may be increased with an optional insert for the test holes. The insert modifies the bath for preheating of ASTM D2983 test tubes (the diameter is reduced from about 34 mm to about 22 mm). The insert may be easily and quickly removed when needed for ASTM D97 test sample preconditioning.
Other hole configurations of the heated block bath are available with additional test positions, or a mix of test methods in one bath. Please inquire.
