Model 422 is a compact electronic vacuum controller able to precisely maintain the vacuum from 1 to 760 mm Hg and pressure from ambient to 100 psig.. The unit is free of mercury (and other hazardous liquids).

Once the Model 422 is powered and a vacuum applied, the set point is achieved and controlled in a matter of minutes. Vacuum upset are minimized even with large pressure upsets. Steady state vacuum control stability is ±0.5 mm Hg.

Model 422 is useful for a wide variety of vacuum control applications. One such application is control of applied vacuum to a hydraulic fluid filtration test. Other applications is for the ASTM D6371 CFPP test (IP-309), for ASTM D4539 LTFT test, ASTM D2171 asphalt viscosity, and other test methods.

An external source of vacuum is required (a suitable, compact vacuum pump is available as an option).

Model 422 has the ability to communicate with a Windows based PC but can operate independently of the PC. The set point of Model 422 can be adjusted via the easy-to-use Windows based software (supplied). The software reports an alarm when predermined pressure or vacuum range has been violated.

Model 422 is in a self contained painted aluminum cabinet with approximate dimensions of 11 x 13 x 8 inches high.
